We have a five gallon bucket of hack job shop tools setting in a pile of crap near a wall.  We use that junk a lot.  Mostly on hydraulic work.


This press is no low budget toy but a small fortune in machinist work.  He will treat it well for decades.

I made this up and use it in the harbor freight hydraulic press when doing trans clutch stuff. Not quick but it works pretty good. I was gonna do some pipe halves and such but that seemed like a lot of work in comparison.

Having open spaces to work the clip in is better, I don't even use it but can see the advantage easily.

I like the simple jig type tools myself.  One big press for multiple types of work.
