My old Craftsman Drill
« on: August 24, 2018, 09:24:24 AM »
Last year the house across the street from us had an estate sale. The husband had passed years ago and the wife passed at 104 last year. I started not to go because the couple had been a well-to-do socialite type, she had been a runway model back in the 20's, he was a professor. I decided to go over anyway cause it was just across the street. As I'm about to leave I see this box out on the back porch, open her up and low and behold this gem is looking back at me!!! I'm not a collector by any means but I couldn't let this one walk away. I took it to the check out table, it had a $15 sticker on it. The lady looked at it and said....."That's too much for that old thing, how about $10!!! SOLD!!!! I don't think it's ever been used.

That should be in a museum -- put it away for posterity. Very few pristine examples like that left in the world

Very nice. Those were good drill motors.
People who confuse etymology and entomology bug me in ways I can’t put into words.

Does it have even one fingerprint on it?  It looks like you're the second person to ever open the box it came in.  I'd contact Sears & try to find out what year that was made.  A 4 digit serial number? It might be a collector's item.
Cheers,
Tom

Keep smiling.  Everyone will wonder what you're up to!
