My vintage, new in box, skil 77 find
« on: August 25, 2018, 09:12:49 PM »
I was at a yard sale last week, and it was one of those spotty junk type sales. The little old lady asked me what i was looking for, and i said vintage tools. She says i do have a saw in the closet that i purchased 40 years ago, but never used, and she brings this out. I asked how much, and she says 25 bucks, so here it is. This is a type 12, which i could not find in my online searches. I called skil, and they emailed me the cut sheet for it. Last made in 1971.

Thanks Guys! This is my 3rd old model 77 in my collection, but this one will never be used by me, unlike the other 2.   ;) I asked my wife if she had room for it in her curio cabinet, and she gave me the "not in this life time", stink eye look!  :'(

I just paid close to 2 bills for a new red mag one at work, and the damn thing is made in china!

I have 4 old, good ones at home. Arguably the best saws ever made.

That is the sweetest NOS one I've ever seen. Even if you did start using it, I bet it'd outlast 3 new ones.
