Channellock authorized distributor sign
« on: February 20, 2021, 02:15:00 AM »
Found this on marketplace today for cheap.

Blue and red plastic with gold accents on the raised lettering, tools, and border. Kind of hard to see the gold in the pics. It has a few scratches, mostly on the border, and the hang hole on the back is broken (easy fix) otherwise it's in real nice shape.

I'm guessing it's a bit older, maybe 80s? 90s?
Size is 9-3/4" tall by 7-3/4" wide.
Didnt find much on Google.

That is cool.  Interesting that they have screwdrivers and hammers on the sign as I don't associate C Lock with those tools.  Also the adjustables though I do see those more often

Man that's awesome.
I'd absolutely love to find something like that, I'm a big fan of Channellock.

I have a few old Champion DeArment ball pein hammers. I am unsure when they stopped making them, that is why I thought it was a bit older.

That's a cool bit of garage art for sure.
Nice score.
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

Nice score. That has nice colors. I recently started collecting signs.

If you can’t fix it with a hammer, it must be electrical.

I have a nice collection of signs, nothing too valuable, just cool man cave wall art. I don't think I had any tool signs til now. Got any neat tool related stuff?

Not really tool related but I’m always looking. I just bought this off eBay because it’s funny and a Tim Allen tool show is coming on. I did just get this Hide a key last week. Nothing special but I used them back in the 70s when I got my first car. At $1.79 that is probably close to the era .

Man those look great.
I've got a current Channellock # 6n1 that I like but it is relatively square in profile and I believe I would like the handle on one of these much more.
I'll have to look into getting one.

Love the Binford Tools sign. The wife surprised me one night by taking me to a live Tim Allen show when he was doing his power tool routine before the Home Improvement show. We both laughed so hard during his performance. :bravo_2:

It looks like the screw construction is depicted for the pliers, so I suppose that would probably make it a bit older.
They also don't seem to be depicted with a line that would represent the blue handles.

I think similar to older catalogs that had illustrations instead of pics, there was probably some artistic leeway with this sign. I don't know if i would interpret it as the absolute truth. And I don't know about dates for the blue grips, but I recall reading that when they were first introduced, they were optional for a period of time where you could get them with or without.
