Pawnie finds: 10-2-18
« on: October 02, 2018, 06:12:55 PM »
Walked into one of my regular pawn shops to look through their DVD's. They have a couple of small tables set up with all sorts of clearance tools just dumped on them. Found these three pieces.
A Hi Shear Corp 9mm socket 1/4" drive with allen set screw. Gearwrench (my guess) 3/4" ratcheting box wrench to 3/8' socket. And a little knurled knob I thought I could use.
The socket has an odd wear pattern inside the broaching. I'm thinking it has something to do with the HiShear rating?

And the socket adapter is unusual in that it has a 1/4" hex hole on the back. 3/4" hex to 3/8" knuckle I get - but why put a 1/4" hex adapter on it? There's alot better ways of going from 1/4" hex to 3/8" square without all the bulk of this thing.

Looks like that adapter is giving you the ability to drive nuts or bolts with a socket or screes with a driver bit.
It adds to the height, but at least it does more than one thing and a lot of people go for things that try to do it all.
Always lookin' to learn
