SATURDAY TOOL FINDS 11-10-18
« on: November 10, 2018, 05:06:50 PM »
I went back to this estate sale for 50 % day. Most of the things I wanted were gone. I did pick up a few things :
1. Greenfield letter stamp set
2. Greenfield number stamp set.
3. Digital caliper. HF brand. I need on to take to the gun shows.
4. Compass.

Nice haul!  The Harbor Freight digital calipers are surprisingly good tools.

They are pretty good but they seem to have an insatiable appetite for batteries.

I have another pair that I take the battery out as it will go dead. When you close the case it turns itself on.

They have circuits tat are always live to monitor the On button and I think the others. If you slide the scale it will turn on as well so all that is live. A hard disconnect switch would enhance battery life but I guess in a busy shop battery changes are routine. For someone like me I don't use them every day or even every week so pulling the battery is the best option.
