Now that I have some discussion going and I am a little farther in I will leak out what I am most interested in. My dealer has located a holdover mahindra max26xl with loader. Not purchased yet but leaning that way. Biggest problem is it is 400 miles away. I may include a blower, pallet forks and  used 3 pt finish mower in the deal if I can swing it.

That sounds like a nice package. Used tractors of any size are nearly impossible to find around here. We came close to getting a new Kiotti or Kubota before we found the MF. It would be nice to have an easily hauled tractor. Since the MF weighs 7700lbs not counting the loader and Gannon box scraper I have no way to haul it.

I wonder if you get it too small you will want it to do more than it can. I see used 20 hp tractors all the time, I think they are too small so I don't look to close. Maybe I'm wrong on that?

My dad bought a new Deere 1025R (I think that's the #) and he loves it. It has the larger front end loader, 54" drive on belly mower, and a rear blade. I believe it has a 3 cyl Yanmar diesel engine, is 4x4, etc. Very nice little unit.

I looked at the 1025r and started to deal on a used one. it wss just physically too small. a max 26 xll is  just larger in almost every way and was new with a warranty and a stack of rebates.

maybe you should look again, i really liked the emax and it had a feature or two i really liked and didn't get with the max. it does seem like when you see a. 20 hp tractor it isset up with smaller stuff and  when you get to tires and the 22  and up stuff has larger tires and more options.

as i said earlier, if i need a bigger tractor i move to the 65hp model and if that doesnt do it i move to the 100 one. my issue has been not having a smaller tractor for small spaces and easy hauling.

Recently bought a used Simplicity Legacy XL.  It is 4wd & has a loader.  I haven't had to use it for snow yet, but I got a set of pallet forks for the loader from Northern Tools & it has been fantastic for moving things.  It's small enough to haul on my Snowco tilt trailer, but big enough for everything I have tried so far.  I'd like to find a snowblower for it.

Which engine does it have? I want one with the vtwin kawasaki. Loved the quik hitch loader and the belly mower. Too big for my little city lot but like you say an fel with forks would be real handy.

kawasaki.  Loader off & on is slick- easily under 5 minutes either way with no physical labor.
