Lawn Tractor
« on: August 06, 2022, 05:47:38 PM »
Just completed a major upgrade to the ignition of my lawn tractor.
It had developed a habit of eating the magneto alive.   I was replacing 2 or 3 a year.
My son did weeks of internet research and concluded that a mix and match parts selection just might work
It now uses a Ford brake reluctor on the flywheel, triggering a GM HEI which, in turn, fires a dual coil (for a GM "wasted spark" ignition system
Now it runs like brand new!
Firhttps://www.gocomics.com/frazz/2022/08/06es up sans even using the choke.   First piston coming up fires and its running! :)

I've been looking at doing that with an Onan Generator I have. Lots of good ideals on the web about ignition swaps
