Title: WESTERN AUTO carry box
Post by: john k on June 14, 2019, 01:33:35 PM
Went through an estate sale place today.  Saw some old boxes, thought this one was a tackle box.   Hip roof,  old latches, andwonder  of wonder does not have a hasp added.  Clean inside, with lift out metal tray, arranged for 1/2 in. sockets and 3/8  sockets.  No junk or tools in it.  Inside the lid is a diamond shape logo,  quality ,  etc.   Western Auto supply.  Leather wrapped handle  so am thinking 1930s.    Need another carry box like I need the flu.  but hey, for $15 wasnt too  bad was it?

Another tool box story----Two weeks ago at an auction they were selling choice box lot off a table and all the good stuff was gone, at least I thought so.  Choice got down to $4.00 and I took a John Deere (running deere) tool box full of nuts, bolts etc.  I did so because I had never seen another John Deere tool box so thought it might have value.  Contents turned out to have a few wrenches and a tin snips.  Looked on e-bay, the cheapest J D tool box like mine was $100.00. :)
