Title: Channelocks
Post by: john k on December 12, 2020, 09:33:41 AM
Quick run through the junk store.  Found the pinchers in the box with the garden tools, aka nail puller.  The pipe pliers were in the usual tool place,  didnt realize they were different til I dug them out, model 410, dirty but jaws are perfect.  At least I think they are for pipe?  Why do these say, buy me?   Think they were$4 each.

Great find, and they'll clean up nicely. I never walk past a good deal on Channelocks and Vice Grips

i believe those were called nutbusters......... they work better on round or rounded items. 3 contact points rather than 2 .

I have numerous 410s, I use them as small pipe wrenches, one is in my service tool bag everyday

Nice. I love Channelocks, good tools.

I miss having a good junk shop. We had one for a little while in town, but they didn't know what they were doing, putting the tools in a back room, and not even trying to sort them. People go to stores like that looking for looks, things like that, not tchotchkes you can pick up at any 5 and dime store. Foolish.

I always thought they were known as the parrot jaw or something like that. Good grab!

Channellocks are great and USA made. The wife wanted me to get some gifts for her plant manager and foreman and I got the pm a pair of 460's and he was stoked. The foreman got a Dasco USA punch and chisel set which he needed. I only buy USA if possible.

Same here, Channellock and Dasco have been great to me.
I still need to get a pair of those nut busters,  but I just haven't gotten around to it.
