I guess freezing to death or the fear it could happen is taking hold. That natural gas ain't going to be coming from those Russians for a while so they do have the need to heat their homes and have energy for their manufacturing.

It took old Vlad Putin just eight months to bring that German "green energy" movement to its knees. Small and large companies across Germany are shutting their doors not because business is bad, but they just can't afford the energy costs anymore. The German citizens were sold a lie -- namely that the country could survive without coal and nuclear power. Sadly, if this winter is extremely cold in Europe, many older fixed income people will die.

Old next door neighbor is Austrian. Family still lives over there. Asked him to check them as on another forum, member has family over there, and heating bills went up 700%. The claim is they are burning furniture.
Old neighbor born early wwII, lived through the aftermath before coming over early 60's. Old survival skills will make a comeback.

Jabber, you are spot on. And that is the problem with either extreme being in control of their party. And that is where we stand today.
Environmental concerns are real as are border concerns as are race concerns and property rights concerns. Both sides have causes that are important to them. Darn shame folks in charge can't realize that and work together to have at least part of their concerns dealt with.
