Title: The Craftsman Pro series vise -
Post by: goodfellow on August 13, 2018, 06:50:46 PM
Had to revive a great old thread -- these were great vises. I see them on ebay every now and then, and they are still reasonable.

Whoever the Chinese manufacturer of this product was, I complement them on their work. It is truly a "Professional" piece. Rarely do you see a 60,000 psi rated casting on a bench vise these days; unless it sells for several hundred dollars.

Heavy duty hardware and a serrated bottom plate to positively lock the vise in position -- a feature usually found on much more expensive units

The jaws are flawless --

That was certainly the best vise at Sears, at the time. I was tempted to buy one several times, but never did.

I almost waited too long. I bought the very last floor model the Topeka store had when those were discontinued. It is a bit small for my taste, but I mounted it up and have enjoyed using it a lot.

Despite COO it has been great vise.
