Another Snappy find
« on: December 14, 2019, 03:14:15 PM »
Went to a crafter's estate sale and saw these needlenose in a cup of small tools. Marked Vacuum grip Snap-On 195E. Had to have them - the 50 cents cost broke me. :))

But I thought the "Vacuum Grip" name belonged to someone else?

Snap On bought Vacuum Grip way back when. Some are marked Vacuum Grip , Snap On or both. Most all of them have the Vacuum grips on the inside of the handles.

Yep, they used to make pliers for snap on and snappy bought them.  My guess is they bought them in the 50's.  I want to say Newville Pa .

Somewhat collectable

Forged Steel Products was the name of the company in Newport Pa. Snap-on took over around 1945 and about 1955 the plant was closed and production moved to other S-O facilities.

OK then, I have a friend who's a Snappy fan - I'll put together a care package for him and include this pliers.  :)
