This indestro that belonged to my grandfather was my first ratchet of any quality.

I don't use it much these days, but it's still one of my favorites.
Definitely my favorite knurled handle next to the Easco 71 1102, it's not that aggressive or particularly grippy nut the size is perfect.

I find the humble spinner handle to be a key part of any good 1/4dr set.

I'll accept a driver handle like this nice little Thorsen from a set I got in my SS gift last year, driver handles aren't my preference but I still really love this one.

I'd definately always rather have a spinner handle if I can.

I just ordered a new old stock Duro-Chrome 4582, an Ebay seller has a box full of them available. Hopefully they're all as nice as this one pictured.

It's the same as my Indestro 6072, except of course it has the hang hole.

I can't exactly remember the whole story on the Duro - Chrome / indestro connection, but I can easily look it up if I ever feel like it.

For $15+ tax I figured I'd check out this Craftsman gimbal palm ratchet,  plus I wanted to see how I liked the idea of attaching the 2 sets together.

Maybe I'll find a use for this kit made up of these 2 sets latched together.

This palm ratchet gives you an 8mm, 10mm and 3/8-9/16.
The bit ratchet set didn't go up to 9/16 so that's good, and you can never have too many 10mm.

I have a Husky or GW version of the gimbal ratchet. Nice size and grip.

It does seem like a nice size.

I wish the selector wasn't plastic, but it seems decent in quality otherwise.

Though I never got to use it for this, I thought that type of ratchet would be perfect for under the dashboard type of screws. The ones where you can't always see and get into the best grip position.

i can imagine lots of uses for it, whether ill ever need it for those things remains to be seen.

The same seller I bought the SK tuff1 from had these indestro 2875a.
Factory liquidation I assume, only one was actually marked which the first buyer got the rest are sterile with a sticker.

Well happy birthday to me, my Duro Chrome 4582 just arrived.
The fit and finish is much nicer than my old indestro, the anvil is much tighter, and the socket fit is much better too.

They barely lubed it from the factory,  so it only took a minute to scrub the old dried grease off the gear and throw some super lube in it.

Yet another ratchet with an overly skinny grip.

It's not bad , but sadly it's not exactly the ratchet I had in mind.
I saw the selector and assumed it was the same as the ones made for the Powr-kraft 100 series but it's not, just a typical 46 tooth single rocking pawl mechanism.

It's not a terrible ratchet though and I'm happy to add it to the collection, especially for under $20.

That's what I figured.
This particular seller had a handful of them, 1 marked and the rest with or without the stickers.
I'm guessing they went to stickers at the very end to save any money they could, and some just never got the sticker applied before they shut down.

I think it's time to start doing some serious looking for one of the hard to get ratchets on my list.

Right now I have a vintage Benjamin off to an expert to have the barrel soldered back on, since I don't know what It'll cost or when it'll be done and time to pay for the work this gives me time to do some looking as I hold off on so many purchases till that's done.

I don't know if I even can find a Blackhawk 24991 from the nuggies set, but it's time to start looking.

I finally scored a Craftsman 43174 , they're actually very readily available on Ebay lately but I was looking for the best deal and kind of only paying attention to the listing result emails from my watchlist items.

This one popped up for $15 and I kind of jumped the gun, because the other that popped up at the same time was $12 but had some rode rash on the head.

I paid $20 shipped,  and after purchasing a " similar result " popped up for a NOS rebuild kit for it which I wound up buying for $12.82 shipped since the selector has little wear.

Then after buying the rebuild kit a " similar result " popped up for another 43174 which looked unused, $20 with free shipping  :-[ :-[

I could have just done a quick search and got the like new example for $20+ tax but since I didn't,  I'm into this one for about $33   :41: :41:

Oh well, I'll save the mechanism I pull out and maybe one of you guys will need it at some point. It doesn't look all that bad but I'll get a better idea when it arrives.
