Garage Gazette member MachinistChest passed away September 2012.  We were unaware of his passing.  John was the owner of MachinistChest.com.  MachinistChest.com has indicated a Planned RE-Opening of January 2014.  On behalf of the Garage Gazette online community, we extend our condolences to John's family, and wish them success on their planned RE-Opening.

John Thomas Miletta
(February 2, 1958 - September 7, 2012)

John Thomas Miletta was born February 2, 1958 in Taylor, PA and passed away on September 7, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.

John attended St. Michael's Elementary School, was a 1976 graduate of Old Forge High School, Old Forge, PA, and attended Johnson Trade School, Scranton. John started his career as a machinist at Main Tool in Old Forge. In 1980 he moved to Richardson, TX, where he worked for Texas Instruments. In 1984 John made his home in The Colony, Texas and was employed by Rochester Gauges, where he worked for the last 28 years.

One of John's many talents included refurbishing machinist chests, which led to the start of Machinist Chest.com, of which he was most proud. His handiwork was featured on the cover of Woodsmith Magazine which was published in several countries.

John is preceded in death by his father Frank and is survived by his loving wife Raquel and precious 6-year old daughter Shanna Marie; his mother Margaret Panek Miletta and brother Frank Miletta of Old Forge, PA; sister Maria and brother-in-law Andrew Chobany of Richardson, TX; sister Carolyn and brother-in-law John Kohut of Plano, TX; sister Regina Miletta of Honesdale, PA; and sister-in-law Nilda Cabuyoc Haugh of State College, PA. John was loved by his nieces and nephews Stephen, Larissa, Deanna, Brandon, and Ronel; great nephews, Sebastian and Adrian; his wife's loving Cabuyoc family in the Philippines; and many supportive friends. John was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in The Colony.
