Remote starter what to buy

I need a remote starter switch that does 6v to 24v only one im finding is snap on but i really dont want to drop 120 on something that wont see everyday use i had a mac that did the job that was if i remember 60 off truck but i cant find the original manufacture and i found one on ebay for 90. But if im gonna spend that i might as well just buy snappy for the warranty

MAC and Snap-On are the best ones out there I've seen. But like you said they are pricey.


You could make your own. Grab a momentary switch, wire and alligator clips.

The excitor circuit won't see a whole lot of amperage compared to the battery cable.

didnt think about that i got most the supplies already.... Tho i did find a snap on used market place for 65 which is reasonable i think.... Ill try making my own monday and if i dont like the results ill wait and see if anyone else knows of a good one.

Google remote starter switch, lots come up for $12 to $50

Making your own makes sense also because you can make the leads as long as you like

Peerformance tool has one that looks like the older Snap on ones

Well i tried making my own yesterday and didnt really care for it but should work for 24v systems i bought the performance tool for 20 off amazon and it should fill my need for 6 to 12v systems

Most switches don't care about voltage, just amps and a starter solenoid doesn't draw many amps regardless of voltage

Yup. Its about amps, not volts.

Remember, that circuitry goes through your starter switch with no relay in between. Inexpensive (not meaning cheap) does the job.
