Slip joint pliers with a nut.

 Does any one still sell 8 inch slip joint pliers with an adjusting nut on the bolt. (like in the picture)
 So far all i can find are Icon pliers for $19 a set.

HJE has a  few, including NOS WWII vintage.

As suspected, the American made WILDE are cheaper from HJE than the imported Icon are from HF.

And these they're calling hose clamp pliers, but they're the same thing.
Chromed with the nice patterned grips and they're only $5 , because I guess technically they're NOS from the WILCO line they no longer use.

I don't think you can even get the 8" Pittsburgh or any of HF's other brands of crappy Chinese pliers for $5.

Typically the hose clamp pliers had a spot for the round wire hose clamps, that regular slip joint didn't.

That's right,  I forgot because I just tend to use regular slipjoint pliers anyways.

i think the wilde pliers you ordered are riveted. they also off the flush flit pliers that off a recessed bolt/nut. either way is not a wrong answer, my experience with both has been positive.   take that with a grain of salt.

I personally don't like the bolt construction because it's bulkier and can loosen.


I could be wrong, but I do believe the WILDE are still a bolt construction.
I looked at their tongue & groove pliers and the pictures showed a bolt construction.
I suppose theres a chance it was changed very recently and the stock photos just haven't caught up suppose.

I found some Western Forge 5451 7 inch pliers on ebay for $20 shipped.
 Don't know how much difference 1 inch will make but will find out.

The Tekton pliers (Wilde made) have a nut on them I think..........At least they did 5 years ago when I bought a pair.
