Wet/Dry vac hoses
« on: May 04, 2023, 02:41:21 PM »
I have 2 wet/dry vacs. One is a Shop Vac brand and the other is a Rigid. Both are around 16 gallon. I need replacement hoses. Are the sizes standard or do I need brand and model specific hoses?

Likely 2 inch vac hose.  The cuffs where they attach to the vac and the other end for attachments is what is important.  The cuffs may be removable so if you find just the hose, you may be able to swap over the cuffs

The better hoses tend to be something like 1 7/8" on the larger size.  (collapse resistant)

Maybe an attachment like this could work? I saw an HVAC guy use this on a porta-vac to suction out clogged condensate lines on A/C units. The multi-diameter collar would allow any of a number of different brands of vacuums to be used.

I just measured the old hose end. It’s 2-1/4”. Unfortunately, the old ends are damaged as well. My dog felt even the ends were chewable. The hose end is bigger where the hose fits into it because the hose is bigger than 2-1/4. It’s closer to 2-9/16”. Which size am I looking for in the description online?

Hose diameter, they almost always have couplers to connect the shop vac to the hose.

Try a car wash supplier. I use Kleen Rite. They have industrial quality hoses often they’re less than the crappy corrugated hoses that came with the vacuum
