Grabbed a perfect condition dare i say it never fired example of one of these.
It functions ie cycles perfectly but builds no pressure , i`m thinking the rubber seals have not aged well.
Anybody know a good air gun rebuilder?
Looks just like this one.
Northwest airguns does good work, so does Tim Macmurray at mac1 airguns but I'm not sure if he works on the S&W's.
You could always do it yourself, it shouldn't very hard.
I have never seen a 77a in person let alone been into one but there's not too many ways to make a hammer fired pneumatic valve.
I did a S&W model 79g pistol awhile back and it was extremely simple, but it's a Co2 gun.
One of the coolest things about the S&W airguns is that they are real Smith and Wessons, manufactured by them.
Btw you should try giving it some SAE non detergent 10w30 and see if that revives the seals, if it starts to build pressure but leaks try standing it upright in a corner for a few days with some isopropyl alcohol and running it to flush it out then re oil and see what happens.
Don't use gun oil or anything like that.
If it seems to be unfired it might just need oil.
I just got this 1962 Crosman model 400 repeater in today that I'll be resealing here soon.
