who likes/liked John Denver music?

Only a few of his songs and not back to back. Outside of those few not much of a fan of the rest. A little goes a long way.

Generally my thoughts on the matter.

...yet real talent like Laurence Juber, John Prine and Junior Brown struggle.

I don't know Laurence Juber  but if you hold him with JP and JB I will check him out.

John Prine is a favorite of mine...the whole gang of them, Prine, Steve Goodman, Bonnie Rait, and Jackson Brown never really got the fame they deserved.

Also...Stan Rogers, James Kellaghan, Stompin' Tom, Arlo Guthrie, Taj Mahal and Tom Waits

Seriously though, their first two albums were pretty good. After that they tanked. But with the band leaders politics getting spewed lately I'm starting not to like the earlier stuff either.

I, too, like rock and roll. Though I like alot of music. R&R, disco, country, jazz, gospel - depends on the mood.

I'm thinking back.........as I recall.......waaaaay back in the day....

If the girl got into the front seat and sat a bit too close to the passenger door....I'd flip through some tapes, and if I didn't hit on a band that got her foot to tapping, then out comes the JD tape. If she didn't scoot closer to my side with him spouting off about some "Sunshine on his shoulder."...I knew it was going to be an early evening (for her).

Just sayin.......

If your date sits way over against the passenger door,  just hand her some polish and a cloth,  and ask her to shine up the chrome while she is over there!!!   She will either laugh, or get out.

My tastes went more toward Skynyrd, Allman Bros, Led Zeppelin and the such...

Middle sister played a John Denver album incessently and I grew to hate it
