Those stogies look very tempting guys. I smoked a  few now and then in College, especially around a few all night poker games.

Anyway, how about a few suggestions for a smooth smoke for someone that has not fired up a stogie in  decades.
You boys better hold on cause I'm gonna have to stand on it!

That's not an easy question to answer Herb. The general consensus is that the lightest blend cigars are made with Dominican tobaccos. There are exceptions of course because handmade cigars are usually a blended product, but a cigar with pure Dominican fillers, binders, and now even wrappers is considered to be the choice for many new cigar smokers. In addition, some Honduran blends are also very light. If you have a good tobacconist in your area, it's worth a trip to  ask for a light Dominican blended cigar.
A common misconception for new cigar customers is the mistaken belief that a dark wrapper will be indicative of a strong smoke. Wrapper color doesn't mean anything as far as the strength or smoothness of the cigar is concerned. It's the tobacco blend inside that wrapper that determines the strength and ultimate smoothness of the cigar.

New to me cigar. J.C.Newman PDM in a very tight, almost square, box press. Very easy draw and a barnyard aroma of hay and fresh cut grass. Very pleasant to smoke - with a taste of sweet tobacco and a just a hint of honey.

A noteworthy cigar.

A Arturo Fuente Don Carlos in Robusto.

Nice medium profile. Nothing special really but far from boring.

Happy Easter to my GG family. I wish all a great day with friends and family. To celebrate the end of Lent, I pulled a nicely aged Southern Draw Firethorn cigar in size Toro. Pleasant sweet molasses notes with lots of woody floral bouquets.

Perfect for a sunny spring day.

LFD Double Ligero in Toro - great cigar on a warm sunny Friday afternoon. Paired with espresso makes for a relaxing time.

Rocky Patel Decade.

Disappointing. Smoked poorly for the first half then hot in the second.

Too bad Tim. I've had several similar experiences with RP cigars. Better luck next time ---

Sometimes you have to treat yourself to an ultra premium cigar. This Agape Dominican Puro in Robusto size is just the ticket. Smooth creamy and such a wonderful floral bouquet. A bit pricy, but worth it.

An ACE Prime (now LUCIANO) factory smoke. Nothing spectacular but would make a nice everyday smoke.

Happy Father's Day Tim! Glad you tried that ACE Prime. Good cigars for a casual smoke, but I agree, it's nothing that I would write home about. I will smoke one of the Luciano Sergeant cigars this afternoon. I'll send you a few to try yourself. I see/read that Luciano Cigars is coming on strong with many good cigars. Have o place an order for some of their new offerings.

Enjoy the day --

This is a very complex cigar - woody, floral tastes at the outset, and transitioned well into a sweeter more caramel note. Very nice!!
