Re-purposing
« on: November 02, 2018, 08:04:35 PM »
Saw this article on re-purposing and some things were pretty good while others are lame. Might be a gold mine for Strik.
Here were a couple of decent ones.

I like the PVC pipe holders for cordless drills.

Though, if I had that many cordless drills - I'd need a BIG PVC pipe holder for me - as I'd be hanging out with those drills. :D

Screws in an ice cube trays is a good idea.
I use an old plastic utensil drawer organizer for drill bits and files.
Always lookin' to learn

Lame depends on your way of working in a shop.  Mine requires vertical storage for lack of floor.

I recycled lights into... lights of a cheaper bulb and sheet tin into boxes and trays.    My window panel was a car hood once.

What works here for me may be woefully inadequate for many others as my workbench is light duty and my vise tiny.

I enjoy a re-purpose thread, every now and then a really unique idea bubbles up ..Might not use it but will like the thinking behind it.

Playing around with cars one learns a term purposely built, meaning function determines form, sort of applies.

Another one I have to try is using an old tennis shoe sole to clean sanding belts and disks. I have always used the gum rubber sticks but I am down to my last stick and they are $10 now. I am about to retire an old pair of shoes and just may save them if it works.

Just take them off first.
