I have an old Frigidaire range - the one with those monotube stove elements. So I'm thinking it's about 50 years old. Still works, and it made it through another thanksgiving day dinner. But she's looking a bit grungy, so, I decided this weekend it was time for some much needed cleaning and maintenance.
The elements are NLA, but I replaced them about 10 years ago. The drip pans and support rings take alot of heat, so I took them out this morning and cleaned them. Then applied a nice coat of heat resistant paint to both the pans and element support brackets. The pans should be chromed, but have deteriorated over the years and are also NLA. So heat resistant paint is the best I can do. Came out nice, with a silver and black contrast.
Tomorrow I clean the oven.
