No creature comforts, but very dependable.

Thanks DeadNuz - I bought it new and and its been a great ride ever since. it's easy to do repairs when needed and parts are still easy to get. Fortunately, repairs are few and far between. the only major work has been to replace two clutches. Otherwise, tough as nails, but not the most comfortable ride in rush hour traffic. no AC, standard shifting, and stagecoach ride. But, i wouldn't give it up for anything.

Was always on the lookout for one of those, just like the look.  Does that have the six cylinder(almost a Chevy)?   What about no creature comforts?   It has a roof, and windows, and probably a heater,  does a person really need more than that?

Hi John. Yes, the 2F engine is a 258 cid (4.2 liter) straight six based on the classic Chevy straight six. It isuceeds the first F engine at 237 cid. As far as creature comforts, you’re right about all it really needs to be a great daily driver. Being in Hawaii, I don’t even use the heater. The Landcruiser is all original with the exception of a tachometer and radio. After owning it for 37 years this way, I don’t think I’ll be changing anything soon.

I always liked those, as an CJ5 driver for many years that hard top is an major improvement over the CJs softtop in North Dakota.

Saw one the other night. Parked outside a restaurant I was headed into. Super clean like yours, but with a tasteful hood scoop. As we left the restaurant, there were but a few folks left, and I quickly narrowed down in my mind who might own it. Turns out he bought it new in 72, has been kept original since (other than a SBC, Air con, and a few other things). Super shiny paint. It was clearly well cared for all these years.

They are priced to the stratosphere these days.

You have a very nice example there.
