Papaw passed away April 6, 2021. He was the founder and admin of Tool Talk/Papaws Wrench.

I am deeply saddened to hear this news.

Noel Clyde Hankamer, 78, of Alvin Texas passed away on April 6, 2021. Noel graced the world with his presence on December 19, 1942 to parents Jesse and Olivia Hankamer in Alvin Texas. Noel served four years in the Peace Corps in the mid-sixties. A few short years later he married the love of his life, Virginia, on July 13, 1973. Noel was a proud husband, father and grandfather. His family says he was a pretty great dad and his grandchildren were his greatest joy in life. He enjoyed photography, classic motorcycles and antique tools.
Noel is preceded in death by his parents Jesse James Hankamer and Olivia Madera Hankamer, and his sister Wineva Hankamer.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife: Virginia Hankamer; sons: Michael and significant other Amanda Saunders, Patrick and wife Jessica; brothers: Jorge Hankamer, Ted Hankamer, and Orville Hankamer; grandchildren: Sabastion, Travis, Donita, Cory, Kelli, Emily, Olivia, Tyrus and Theodore.

So sorry to hear this. I cut my teeth on that site as I learned that my affliction was shared with much joy along with others.

So sorry to hear this news. My condolences to his family.
Noel was such a gracious guy. He gave me the motivation to start and run the ratchet thread over at TT, where I posted pics and info about all the different ratchet mechanisms out there. Alot of people found that thread useful.
He will be missed!

That is very sad news as he seemed pretty upbeat with his last posts. His Tool Talk site was one of those sites you could go to and find what you were looking for. Rest easy Papaw and you left a heck of a legacy.

Noel passed last year and his son has taken over the site. I'm not sure whether he maintains it to the same extent that Noel did but I did hear of some outages along the way recently.

I did find the site up and wondered who was running it. I was glad to see the site still up.
