GENERAL TOOL AND MACHINE DISCUSSION / Re: Post all of your latest tool buys here

Thursday found me digging thru a tub of wrenches, used ones, in a store.  Not found much worth taking home lately.  First is a PLVMB double box end, 3/4 and 11/16 , very rthick, 9 inches, 1940s or early 50s.  Next, a Snap-On OEX-18, 9/16 combo, usa 9 , chrome but old.   A 6-inch Crescent  CRESTOLOY in very nice condition.   Then we have an odd little wrench, Snapz-On 1/2 and 7-16, 2 sockets, 12 point, attached to a round bar, about 5.5 inches long, the back of the sockets are plain,  no drive holes.  There is more.  A Snap-On 13/16 spark plug socket.  Pristine,, xs97048, box wear only.  It was attached to a SnapOn  3/8 drive extension plain steel  f-6E.  How about a Thorsen  1/2 dr. 10 inch extensiion.  Fits perfectly with my uncirculated Thorsen set.   Craftsman 1/2 dr ratchet, with the push thu square drive, which is missing, and does not look its age.   Walden Worcester 1/2 in. Ratchet, reverse lever, works nice.  Now 2 oddities, Walden Worcerster  drag  link adjuster sockets,  1130 and a 1129, in 1/2 in. Drive.  How is this, snapon 3/8 to 1/2 adaptor, plain steel. 7-2  6.  Lastly a PLVMB 1/2 inch roll head bar/breaker bar, plain steel, PLVMB  cast into the handle.  Couple of hand saws, a ball peen hammer, and all found at Habitat Restore.   No pics cause I cant make them small enough on here.

Even the the immigrants that are here for decades don't assimilate. My former lawn care and tree trimming guy back in NoVA has been in the US since 1985, and he still can't speak coherent English. His kids speak English, but they are also mired in the Spanish rut -- they don't want to speak our language out of protest. Lord only knows what the heck they're protesting against. They received public financial aid all their lives, and were given preferential treatment in public schools because of their status and their perceived language deficiencies. In many cases they were given their K-12 class lectures in Spanish.

On the other hand, my former Vietnamese neighbors insisted their kids learn English and adopt American first names to help them integrate. Their father made them use English in their household  -- Vietnamese was only spoken on rare occasions.

From about 1948.  Most likely made by Blackhawk.  Only the name on the badge was changed.
Quite rare.  I had to do a lot of work.  I made the chrome strips on the side.

Muddy, The illegals manipulate our legal system to the maximum extent possible. their legal/justice system is vastly different than what we understand. Most Americans cant understand the level of poverty that these illegals are used to. That one of the reasons they are driven to come to the states. our welfare system will give them more than they could ever get back home. They will give anything, including their lives to get here. Ever wonder why its all young men coming into the states? its not the " secret armies" BS the right is pushing. its mostly due to the cultural lack of morals. A woman either has paid protection from the cartels ie: you pay to have someone brought over, or she pays with sexual favors. A lot of women never even make it to the border. They die before they get there. Look up missing women of mexico. its not reported in this country at all. Wonder why?

Living in South Texas, I've dealt with these people all my life. The illegals coming into our country now have no desire to assimilate into the American way of life. They just want to take whatever they can get. They have no thoughts of building a future here. They have very little concept of "future" They live for right now.
One of my neighbors has a shady contracting company. he has a couple camper trailers setting on his place by the river. he usually has 12-15 illegals living there, No electricity, no running water. just a place to sleep. When they first arrive they work, then after a few months the buy a junky truck. Then they buy a new truck. Then they get arrested for some type of felony and go to jail . and the cycle starts over again. Damn few aspire for better living conditions. This is very prevalent in Texas. These people are not the "Dreamers" that the politco push.
