Squidbillies

Look into this hilarious show if you have not heard of it ( don't watch any new episodes though)
I've always loved the show, and I just learned some terrible news.

Apparently a few months back they fired the lead voice after for the main character Early Cuyler.

Stuart Daniel Baker better known by his stage name " unknown Hinson " is hilarious musician voice actor and comedian, ( created this character in the early 90's for a late night public access show called the wild wild south ) he was fired by the bastards at cartoon network over a few social media posts criticizing liberals,  BLM, and Dolly Parton's support of the voilent radical BLM movement.
He did something he has every right to do and was very very right to have done, but of course it seems theres a double standard for freedom of speech these days.
After having been fired he says his career is pretty much over and he can no longer get booked under his stage name Unknown Hinson , and that is after all the entire act that anyone would pay to see.
Of course with the virus going on there just may not be any shows to do, but I would not be surprised if his career has actually been ruined by this.

Like a lot of these shows , you should be under the influence of something and it's so much funnier.

Never needed any influences myself, but I'm sure some like to play along I suppose.
I can see many collage kids making various drinking games out of this show.

Your speech is protected from government not the private sector.  You can say anything you want and .gov "can't" come after you but that protection does not apply to the private sector.  Actions have consequences as Hinson found out.  If you are in the entertainment industry, you have to know it leans left and if you push back, there can be a price to pay.

Your recourse is to not patronize the cartoon network or advertisers, fire off emails and letters and let them know you are upset, start a petition etc.

It is nothing new for Hollywood to be cancelling conservatives. I used to know quite a few people that worked in Hollywood and all of them said they would be out of a job if they let it be known their politics. I used to walk horses with a person that was the head of a network and they said they would be canned instantly if they found her out.

Yet rap singers can spout that crap every other word and no-one cares. So I guess not all actions have consequences.

Well that southern pop music they try to claim is country music was detrimental to the potential revival of the genre anyways so it's no skin off my neck , but regardless of how I feel about the person I can see that it's BS.

I can't stand Jimmy Kimmel and still thought it was BS that he might be canceled for some " comedy " skit he did.

This reminds of an Incident from when I was about 14.
For a while we lived in a pretty ghetto mostly black neighborhood In this crappy rundown appartment complex, and one day I was having an exchange of words with this kid when he decided to tell people I called him the N word.
All his friends went along with it and from then on all the neighbors turned against me and I was branded a racist even at school.

My grandmother doesn't have much filter either.
Once as a kid I was showing her my new slingshot and she said " that's not a slingshot,  that's a ...... shooter ".
As a kid I had no clue what the word meant, all I knew was that the word was everywhere but I was white so I was not allowed to say it.

I remember one day when some black kid called my older brother a cracker and everyone laughed.
I laughed because he got all bent out of shape over it and I thought it was funny that he cared, but I realize now why he was upset.
Being called a cracker meant nothing to him or me and still doesn't,  but he was upset because he noticed the double standard.
They can call us whatever they want no big deal, but if one of us was to use the N word it would about be the worst thing ever.
