Chinese quality Pep -- I have a similar (but more basic round column) machine from HF. They do what they are designed to do, but quality and durability was always an afterthought. Good luck!
The HF has a geared drive ?
It will not happen again that's for sure, greased that puppy going back together. My biggest concern is the power/load a face mill, chomping out a cut at .030 could be putting on the motor. Heating the electrics to a point of melt down.
Recently I acquired a fly cutter and the face mill seen. Both 3in diameter, the fuse never blew so I did not push things to far.
The next or insurance plan, purchased a Volt & Amp display. Placing that on top of the power box, having the digital display will allow real time tracking. Right now it is just a heat guess, touching the motor case with my hand.
Could have just been a defective part also.
It's built , but unfortunately could not find a 4 circuit M/F connector to finish the install. Once upon a time Radio shack was local, now ebay and snail mail. Ain't it great takes forever to get shit done.
So I went outside and repaired two trailers today, one mounted a tail gate, paying job. Second finished repairing cracks in both fenders of a car trailer I am going put up for sale.
Nice trailer hidden ramps slide out, electric brake, spare tire, tool box (steel), working lights, and trailer tires, freshening up the paint also.
