Measure twice, cut once
« on: November 09, 2018, 06:07:00 PM »
Made a goof on a cut. It's on 1/8th" plate. On a finger that is 1/4" wide.
All I can think of is placing a few tacks on the edge then carefully grind. Bondo as needed then prime.
Open to ideas!
Have pictures but the site doesn't agree with my phone. Not sure how to resize?

Do your best weld the rest >:D
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

Keep welding, grind, weld to fill... forget bondo. Just keep adding the metal and grind to size

I thought it was, "measure once...then cut the measuring tape while cutting"?  :D

My former boss never had time to measure "takes too long". So he'd eyeball, drill, cut, try it, grind, file, curse, fill in the gaps with silicon if he had some or electrical tape and call it good enough. And then leave the mess for someone else to clean up.

Try emailing the photo to yourself, the email program should give you an option to resize the image.  Or you might be able to resize it within the phone's gallery.  What kinda phone?

So we (he) went with a Bondo type filler. More fiber/epoxy I forget the brand. Something I have never heard of. Seems to have worked.
Hoping to get pictures.

did that clown answer to the name of Elroy ??

Elroy has seen a few of those in his day. They typical consider themselves experts in every subject known to man with a "thousand years of experience".
You can't tell an idiot anything because they already know it all.
